October 30, 2007 – I am eating a bowl of leftover Morroccan soup and willing all its goodness (lentils, tomatoes, cinnamon, cumin and tumeric) to cure my congestion and warm up my toes. And eating soup reminds me of the sexy cutting boards we got in from Furni the other day. These pedestaled bamboo cutting boards have 2 removable steel bowls built right into one corner of the board making the chopping process of soup so appealing. Furni Creations is a company of two gents in Montreal who create sexy retro inspired wooden products with a modern twist. They are also snow and skateboard enthusiasts which led Furni to contract artists such as Emil Kozak to do limited edition artwork for one of their hottest products, the Alba desk clock. (See end of this entry for more about Emil Kozak.)
Anyway, if you are feeling like me and wanting to cook up a big ol’ pot of veggie chili and hunker down in your cozy nest, come into Love, Me first and pick up a Furni cutting board and a cool limited edition Alba EK clock for yer pad.

More about Emil Kozak: “He began at an early age to develop his skills, inspired by skateboard-art and the result today is a unique artist with brilliant ideas. The style is fresh and positive, but often with a message that digs deeper. He is a master of composition and has an eye for detail, that is not seen very often. Typographic, clean lines and few colors is often how Emil Kozak`s artwork is described. Yet, there is always an unexpected surprise: obscure references, playing with words, codes and hints.” (http://www.emilkozak.com/?page_id=14/)
