September 5, 2008 – On my way into work this morning, I noted (and smelled) an MGM car scooting along Brunswick Street. Adorable car – gross emissions. You could actually see that blue grey soot spewing out of the exhaust. My husband remarked to me that it wasn’t that long ago (when we were kids in the 70’s) that all cars expelled blue grey clouds. I am the first one to get people to up the ante when it comes to their environmental commitments but is just as important to look back and see how far we’ve come.
And while we are on the subject of environmental consciousness, our favorite local eco-chic designer, deux fm, has dropped off some luscious new fall fashions. Personally I am lusting over the tops that are made of Lyocell (a sustainable fibre made from wood) and wool. I am perpetually cold from November – May, and I love the idea of a light weight shortsleeved top with a smidge of wool for warmth. Also from Deux FM – bamboo suit separates (coming next week) and organic cotton dresses.
P.S. If you are not ready to let go of summer, there are still some super deals still on our summer sale racks.
