chill in the air

September 18, 2008 – Though we have had some lovely sunny & warm fall days (today being an exception), in the evenings there is a definate chill in the air. It is a chill that reminds us that winter is close at hand. Enter Majolie. Majolie is a line of gorgeous knits by designer Lysanne Latulippe (love her name!) from Quebec now gracing the ladies fashion section of Love, Me. After checking our the gorgeous sweaters and reading her bio below, follow the link at the end of this post and see the magic “knitted” video Lysanne helped to create from Montreal band, Tricot Machine –

Here is a wee bit about Lysanne:

Soon after graduating from The Montreal Centre for Contemporary Textiles in 2000, designer Lysanne Latulippe opened her own studio. Then in 2002, following a series of highly successful collaborations with renowned Montreal-based designers, such as Yso, Denis Gagnon and Philippe Dubuc, she launched her own label: majolie.

Majolie knitwear is now worn and coveted by fashion-forward men and women from coast to coast.
Each collection fuses textile design and fashion design. Latulippe takes her inspiration from her raw materials : natural, richly coloured and high-quality yarns such as merino wool, viscose and cotton. She tranforms these materials into the bold, original knits that have become her signature and the mark of the people who wear them.

Lysanne Latulippe’s rare combination of talents—the ability to create her own fabrics and design the clothing that brings them to lif, as well as the beauty and craftmenship of her collections, sets her apart in the fashion industry.
