Love, Me is first and foremost about loving handmade. And while there is plenty of great handmade goods from all over the world, I decided to focus on Canada in my original vision. I just made the decision to stay within my own (be it big) backyard. So as we approach Canada with our growlers and bbqables biting at the bit, I thought I would take you on a little virtual tour of Canada Love, Me style.
Love, Me – A Canadian Treasury of Handmade Goods.
Over the past 3 and 1/2 years, I have had the pleasure of having goods from as far away as Whitehorse (Angry Sheep) to as close as (until recently) a few doors down (Little Foible /Colleen MacIsaac). Our talents have come from big cities like Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and small little towns I hadn’t even heard of. Here is only a very small example of the Canadian talent offered at the shop.
from Nelson, British Columbia – Zen Essentials (really comfy bamboo stylings)
Calgary, Alberta – Heather Buchanan (really sweet mini paintings)
Whitehorse, Yukon – Angry Sheep (handpainted images on undies!)
Toronto, ON – Anneke VonBrommel (gorgeous & cheeky Canadiana jewellery)
Owen Sound, Ontario – Elly MacKay (haunting shadowbox photographic prints)
Ottawa, Ontario – Fabricawakuwaku (quirky happy stuffed toys)
Montreal, Quebec – HanamiStyle (colourful lightweight resin earrings)
Montreal, Quebec – Anita Designs (printed paper and textile goods)
Charlottetown, PEI – Overman
Sackville, New Brunswick – Posies (handhooked posie pin & headbands)
Halifax, Nova Scotia – Wanderlust (handprinted textile accessories)
Sugar Soul Hats – Hubbards, Nova Scotia (pretty sweet hats)
Whoa that was quite the tour. And that was only a wee selection. Come on in and see for yourself, ok? And celebate Canadian handmade.
